All that Glitters: The Photography of Andrew Gold
In high summer and in higher latitudes, the “golden hour” of oh-so-special light that photographers chase at either end of the day stretches out to become the golden hours. On the coast of Northern California, photographer Andrew Gold captures the amber light of the low sun warming the backs of breaking waves on medium format colour negative film. Shot from a distance at height, you're removed from the dynamic power of the crashing surf and can instead sink into the rich tones and billowing whitewater of his frames. Enjoy.
